Matt has been leading technology and innovation initiatives for more than 20 years. His love for technology began at age 8, when he won an Atari 400 from a McDonald’s scratch-off contest. Since then, he has created hundreds of platforms and products and has founded or co-founded half a dozen businesses.
He has spoken on the topic of innovation at summits across the country and with media outlets such as CNN and NPR.
He led the team that created Edison Nation, the world’s largest open innovation platform. He was the co-executive producer of four seasons of Everyday Edisons, an Emmy award-winning television series about innovation.
He created the US Patent Office’s “IP Awareness & Assessment Tool” to help companies identify intellectual property opportunities and threats. Other products he created include: the world’s first AI financial advisor, an early IoT product and platform that was funded on Shark Tank, and a predecessor to the Ring video doorbell.
